The Love’s Seat Project was designed as a playful confluence of love, art, poetry, and people. A cluster of four seats, each inscribed with a love poem, was originally installed in Battery Park, NYC and later moved to San Francisco and other sites in California and Massachusetts. Providing shelter and intimacy in the heart of a city, each half of the seat is dependant for support upon the other resulting in a traditional love’s seat configuration.
Maple logs, bronze, stainless steel, steel, pipe, corrugated roofing, paint, lightening struck hemlock, stone. Each love seat is approximately 10 x 5 x 5 ft., 1997–2003, Gene and Susan Flores.
